To achieve its aims and purposes the Foundation works alone and with a number of partners.

“The McClay Foundation’s unrestricted funding for novel research has allowed us to discover how the body’s immune system can recognise cancer. This has been published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute and internationally recognised as an important finding which could lead to the development of new immune based therapies in the future.”

Professor Richard Kennedy MB, BCh, BAO, BSc, PhD, FRCP, McClay Professor of Medical Oncology Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology, Queen’s University of Belfast

“On behalf of the board of Trustees at NI Hospice and the wider organisation, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to The McClay Foundation for leading a major fundraising effort to fund the building of our new dementia friendly Hospice. The Foundation have continued to engage with us and have broadened their support for Hospice and palliative care, taking a genuine and strategic interest in helping to support Hospice Care for adults, children and young people across NI.”

Heather Weir, CEO

“With the vital support of the McClay Foundation CLIC Sargent were able to build two outstanding, and much needed, Homes from Home for children and young people with cancer and their families. These were the first of a kind in Northern Ireland and are providing families with a sense of home whilst their children are undergoing treatment away from their own homes.”

Dara de Burca, Director of Services

“There is no doubt the support we have received from the McClay Foundation has not only allowed this organisation to move forward in a very practical and significant way, but has also provided the vital confidence we needed to encourage other major funders to commit to our work and, for this, we thank you sincerely.”

Gillian Creevy, CEO

“The McClay Foundation and the commitment and care of its outstanding professionals who shared their time with us have made a lifetime of difference to children with cerebral palsy and have assisted us in providing real help and hope to parents whose dreams for the future were shattered.”

Brendan McConville, Founder & Chair

“With the support that we had received from the McClay Foundation in the last five years, tremendous improvements have been brought about in the health status of the slum dwellers of Mayapuri and Kusumpur Pahadi colonies.”
