Supporting the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)

The McClay Foundation exists to make a meaningful improvement in the advancement of human health and is proud to be playing its part during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The following project is partnering with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is a community hospital and primary care centre for children in West and South Philadelphia and a major referral centre for the greater Delaware Valley area, which has an estimated population of 10 million people.

CHOP serves a diverse population in which over half of families receiving care live at, or below, the poverty line and more than 75% receive health coverage through Medical Assistance. The Hospital provides over $117 million annually in uncompensated care ensuring every child has access to the highest quality healthcare. While CHOP is located in Philadelphia, the Hospital serves children and families from all 50 states and 115 countries. Annually, CHOP receives nearly 30,000 inpatient admissions, more than 81,000 emergency room visits, and approximately 1.24 million outpatient visits.
